Training Seminar Luncheon
While the debate about whether we are in a recession or headed towards the Second Great Depression rages on, higher prices and lower interest rates have forced many municipalities to tell their departments to cut budgets in dramatic fashion. Unfortunately, police departments and sheriff’s offices are no exception in these trying economic times. Are you…
If you answered YES to one or more of the above questions, then you need to attend this training seminar.
This training seminar is designed to help Citizen Police Academy coordinators and administrators that currently have a Citizen Police Academy program in their community (or would like to start one up), police officers who instruct classes for their agency’s Citizen Police Academy program, as well as police liaisons and/or civilians that currently coordinate continuing education classes for their local alumni association.
Lieutenant Richard Powers has been in law enforcement for over 30 years. His experience includes military police investigator, Indiana State Police, and the South Bend Police Department. His duties have included being a member of South Bend’s street tactical and narcotics unit. Currently, Lieutenant Powers is assigned as Community Oriented Policing Coordinator for his department, as well as the department’s ethics training officer. He is responsible as the director for both the South Bend Citizens Police Academy and the Volunteers in Police Service unit which has over 380 active members. Lieutenant Powers earned his bachelor’s degree from Indiana University. He is currently serving his third term as president of the National Citizens Police Academy Association.
Attendees will also hear from two surprise guest speakers that are each available to conduct a class for you and your Citizen Police Academy students or alumni association members at little or no cost.
